Godfrey Habumuremyi is staff at KECOBAT on exchange program working as Field Officer. He is a graduate from Makerere University with Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural and Rural Innovation under Department of Extension and Innovation Studies.
Godfrey also holds two Certificates one being in Team building and Empowerment organized by Bridge Head 24 Limited at Makerere University 2012 and another one on Mindset Change and Community Agricultural Leadership Development by New Village Movement in collaboration with School of Agricultural Sciences, Makerere University.
He has worked as Program Officer with Mgahinga Community Development Organization (MCDO) 2013 which is an umbrella organization that coordinates different community projects operating in the communities of Kisoro District, South western Uganda under supervision of Uganda Community Tourism Association. He did work as Parish supervisor for Bwindi and Mgahinga Conservation Trust (BMCT) in Muramba Sub County on the committee to assess and evaluate community enterprises that can be supported by BMCT in the Vicinity of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Godfrey has worked with various partners from Great Lakes Projects, United Kingdom and Spain implementing tree planting project with an aim to promote environmental sustainability and community livestock veterinary project aiming to reduce the spread of diseases between domestic and wild animals with special focus on mountain endangered gorillas.
These working environments equipped him with skills and experiences on enterprise selection and implementation, documentation, and training the communities on various sustainable agro tourism and other related development projects. He always cherish having an open mind towards learning new things that can positively impact the livelihoods of communities and so let’s harness all our efforts towards transformation of our communities.
